Memories of Margaret

Created by Anne 2 years ago

I first met Margaret in September 2005 when I had just moved into my apartment in WSM. From that very first meeting it was obvious that, in spite of suffering from Muscular Dystrophy, Margaret was the type of person who refused to let any form of disability hold her back! She lived her life to the full and was always a bundle of fun to be with and that is how she will always be remembered.

Over the years she played a very active role as a long standing committee member of the social club for the apartments and together with other members, she was responsible for organising social events . As a result, we enjoyed endless day trips, holiday,  film nights, bingo, and social evenings, all of which inevitably bought Margarets sense of fun to the surface.

Who else would, celebrate New Years Eve by leading us all around the car park doing the conga at midnight! Join the Easter bonnet parade, dress up as a witch for Halloween & be 'Santas Little Helper'! Margaret would call out and wave to the 'Wicker Man' everytime we travelled along the M5 on our many day trips!

She would bake cakes & help prepare refreshment for social events whenever needed.

So many happy memories too numerous to mention .

It has been an honour and a pleasure to have been part of Margarets life. She will be sadly missed by family & friends .

Rest in peace Margaret but please never stop laughing !
