Nighty Nighty Margaret 'Maggie' - Welcome Magnolia 'Maggie

Created by Anne 2 years ago

Our Mum - born in the 'silent generation' to be seen and not heard, although not sure that Margaret really adhered to that ! Her path in life was not an easy one. Her formative years through World War 2 , her swansong years thwarted by a global pandemic and in between struggling to cope with mental illness effecting her husband and youngest child and her own personal battle with the debilitating disease that is muscular dystrophy. A cheeky tomboy, a keen sportsperson and a stoic fighter for what is right. Mum forewent her own interests and ambitions to raise her children, shielding and protecting us from many of the immediate familes problems, whilst instilling a sense of loyality and the importance of extended family. Her 'winter' years spent doing the same for her grand-children and step grand-children .

What kept her going for 91 years - Spirit and self motivation.

A daughter, a sister, a lifelong friend, a wife, a mother (and father figure when required), a grand-mother & now at the very same time we said our peaceful  goodbye to Mum at her chosen special spot, she became a great grand-mother as we said 'Welcome' to her first great grandchild , Magnolia, 'Maggie' . The circle of life complete.

Night Night Mum 💚
