'Step Grandma ' Margaret - Cribbage, tropical fish & baking !

Created by Anne 2 years ago

I met Margaret when I was quite young, when she 'adopted' me & Harry as her step grand-children. We spent many weeekdns with Margaret at her bungalow whilst growing up and created a set of memories without even knowing or appreciating them at the time. Margaret was where my fondness for keeping fish started. I always remember looking after the fish, helping to clean the tank , and in particular, taking a liking to the red fin black shark! Since then I have had many fish tanks & ponds.

Margaret had a great sense of humour. I always remember her teaching me to play cribbage and making sure we counted 'one for his knob' when it occurred, which was very funny when you are a child and still is now!

Margaret also taught me how to bake. I remember picking blackberries on the railway sidings opposite her house and making blackberry crumble and just eating the crumble part!

Margaret was always very generous and extended her family to us. We have great memories of playing 'cops & robbers' with her grandchildren racing around her garden , exploring WSM, eating lots of her lovely food & generally having a good and very loving time.

Margaret will, of course, be missed, but we will always have our fond memories. x
